West Ham United could raise funds to sign Jean-Clair Todibo permanently in 2025 by selling star forward Mohammed Kudus, according to The Sun.
The newspaper reported in its print edition on Wednesday [21 August, page 47] that United are committed to paying Nice £34million for Todibo next year.
The Irons will first need to free up some funds, however, in order to land centre-back Todibo on a full-time basis from the start of next season.
Jack Rosser’s report stated that “funds for that purchase could be raised by selling Mohammed Kudus, who has an £85m release clause, in 12 months’ time.”

For all the excitement regarding incoming transfers this summer – whether those already signed or those who could yet arrive – the Irons already boast some very talented attackers.
There is fan favourite Jarrod Bowen, string-puller Lucas Paqueta and indeed out-of-your-seats gem Kudus, who had a very good first season in English football.
Kudus also stood out in the 2-1 loss to Aston Villa last weekend and there is no reason why he cannot be among the very best players in the division this season.
The release clause in his contract is well documented and that will be a concern for the Hammers in 10 months’ time, but he is going nowhere for now.
Clubs always have to be able to balance their books, of course, but let’s just hope player purchases in 2025 – including those already agreed – can be funded by sales other than that of Kudus, Paqueta and Co.
