THERE are less than two weeks to go until the transfer window closes and most neutral observers would probably say Rangers are definitely in a
better place now than at the start of the month.



Three new additions in the form of Tochi Chukwuani, Tuur Rommens and Andreas Skov Olsen have Rangers fans excited about the title run-in with the hope of a couple more in the door before the window shuts.

And Motherwell‘s Tawanda Maswanhise is grabbing the headlines for his stunning start to the season and Devlin explains that although Celtic have expressed an interest in the Zimbabwean star Rangers are monitoring the situation.

Where do Rangers still need to strengthen particularly with Connor Barron injured?



Andy Devlin: “Dan Neil is one I would potentially look at there. I don’t think that’s dead in the water yet.

“I think he’s a player that’s almost like for like with regards to Connor Barron, and I think he’s somebody that Danny Rohl might look to bring on board whether that’s just now or whether that’s towards the end of the window.



“I think what has to happen now is players will need to leave, players will need to be offloaded.



“There’s obviously a lot of speculation around Danilo just now. I don’t think he did much against Annan to strengthen his case.



“I still feel they need to add a striker and cover in midfield.



“Listen, I think the Rangers manager recognises that as well so do not be surprised if that’s the case.



“I don’t think Rangers are done by any stretch of the imagination.



“I think two possibly three signings are still to arrive before the close of this window.”



Could Leeds striker Joel Piroe who has been linked with Celtic be somebody Rangers are also looking at?



AD: “He’s a player that if Rangers were still in the market for a
striker towards the end of this window, that potentially they could look
at.



“I still think there are other options before him, but yeah, I mean it was a strange one with regards to Celtic trying to bring him to Parkhead.



“I don’t think that was ever a goer.



“I think the 49ers have been very conscious of the feeder club look.
That’s why you haven’t seen a player arriving from Elland Road or
somebody from Ibrox going down there.



“But if it’s going to be beneficial to both clubs then why not?



“It’s not the 49ers looking down their nose at Rangers and saying
develop our player, it would need to be mutually beneficial to both
parties.



Are Rangers interest in Tawanda Maswanhise?



AD: “I think there have been links with Rangers. I don’t doubt for a second that they haven’t looked at him.



“Danny Rohl has touched on the importance of the Scottish market certainly when you look at Europe and the five homegrown rule.



“He’s scored 15 goals for Motherwell and scored in the Africa Cup of Nations so he is doing terrifically well.



“A team like Motherwell when they’re doing so well teams are going to look at their players.



“Elliot Watt is a player Rangers are looking at whether he makes the move in the summer I think that is one to watch.



“Danny Rohl is an admirer of Elliot Watt so when you have provincial
teams doing well the manager Jens Berthel Askou is going to attract
attention and it’s the same with strikers.



“Rangers will be aware of him. I’m not saying he is the number one
priority but he will be somebody that is on their radar for sure.



“What could he go for? £1.5m? Motherwell signed a striker yesterday
whether that’s to offset in case a bid comes in and Motherwell can’t
refuse it.



“Motherwell have money in the bank, they sold Lennon Miller in the summer and are not under any pressure to sell.



“It’s not like two or three years ago when they would have to cash in on these guys.



“They will be desperate to keep these guys together and see how high they can finish, how far they can go in the Scottish Cup and Maswanhise is central to that.”
