Neal Maupay has agreed terms on his transfer to Marseille from Everton, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The transfer journalist revealed on his X account [29 August] that the loan-to-buy deal has now all been tied up and Maupay is a signature away from returning to France.
Marseille will take the striker on an initial season-long loan and have a mandatory payment of £3.4m next summer to the Toffees.
Romano shared: “Neal Maupay to Olympique Marseille, here we go! Deal done on loan with mandatory buy option from Everton.
“€4m [£3.4m] fee as EFC were only accepting a permanent move, Maupay agreed terms days ago. All set for medical, as L’Équipé reports.”

That Neal Maupay’s time at Everton will end with a falling-out with the supporters just about illustrates his time at Goodison Park.
One goal in 32 games, a loan spell back at Brentford in between, and a sorry stint in Merseyside will very shortly come to an end.
Maupay will likely excel back in his homeland, although it really would be difficult to improve upon what he has served up in blue during the chances he has received.
The 28-year-old was wanted by numerous clubs including Brentford, along with Championship interest.
But a move to the Ligue 1 giants seems appealing to all parties and the chapter at Everton now looks to be concluding, as Sean Dyche chases targets of his own to replace the Frenchman.
