Jeff Stelling has admitted that he wonders how Leeds United supporters will be feeling after new PSR developments at Leicester City.
The Foxes have seemingly dodged a potential points deduction after the Premier League (3 September) confirmed that an independent Appeal Board had upheld their appeal against an alleged breach of PSR.
Although the alleged financial breach came while Steve Cooper’s side were in the Premier League, talkSPORT host Stelling has insisted that Leeds fans may well feel hard done by after the latest update.
Speaking on talkSPORT on Wednesday (4 September, 8:10) he said: “Leicester City winning their appeal effectively over an alleged breach of profitability and sustainability rules.
“The decision by the appeal board all but ends the prospect of them being given a points deduction this season.
“I wonder how and I’m not saying it is the same situation, but I wonder how fans of Nottingham Forest for example or Leeds United or Everton are going to feel about this.

While it wouldn’t have particularly impacted Leeds had Leicester City been handed a points deduction this season, there will be a sense of frustration around Elland Road after the new developments at the King Power stadium.
Daniel Farke’s side was forced to sell Archie Gray early in the summer transfer window to attempt to remain in line with the financial fair play rules, while other clubs appear to be able to find loopholes to spend to their heart’s content without punishment.
While it shouldn’t come as a shock to fans that the footballing world is not being treated completely fairly, it is frustrating for supporters to see what appears to be a bit of a double standard when it comes to punishments.
Of course, we don’t know the ins and outs of Leicester’s situation and how it compares to the likes of Nottingham Forest, Everton and the Whites. But on the face of it, there seems to be very little consistency.
Hopefully, a better solution can be found sooner rather than later as the current PSR plan in place has not worked anywhere near as effectively as it should have done.
