Bryan King has blasted Neal Maupay after the forward completed his switch from Everton to Marseille.
The ex-Goodison scout claims if he were Sean Dyche, he would be happy to see the back of the 28-year-old.
Everton confirmed via the club’s official website on Friday (30 August) that Maupay had joined Marseille on a season-long loan, with the French club having an obligation to buy the forward.
Ahead of his move being confirmed, Maupay took to his personal X account (29 August) to aim a dig at the Toffees. The Frenchman posted a clip from the film ‘Shawshank Redemption’ showing a prison escape.
And King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – has blasted the Everton loanee for his “childish behaviour.”
“If I were Dyche then I’d be glad to see the back of Maupay,” King said.
All this social media stuff, if you want to be funny, then be funny. However, don’t use a situation where you think it might be funny but other people certainly don’t.
“This is disrespectful to the club that has been paying his wages. I don’t like those kinds of things at all, it is childish behaviour.
You haven’t been playing at Everton, you got your move, get on with it. You don’t need to make a song and dance about it.”

While he has not yet technically left the club permanently, Maupay’s move to Marseille will be made permanent next summer.
Therefore, supporters at Goodison Park can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that the club have finally managed to offload the Everton flop.
Maupay scored just once in 32 appearances for the Toffees. Therefore, to aim a dig at Everton on his way out of Goodison Park was particularly rich coming from him.
Dyche will no doubt be glad to see him leave, and it is hard to imagine the goodbyes in the dressing room were particularly emotional.
