NafisaRangers boss Danny Rohl will be vying for transfer deals right down to the wire – and that could see German star Ryan Naderi join the club shortly. However, reports have suggested that Hansa Rostock are continuing to reject bids from Rangers for his services.
The Gers have already signed three players in the January window. Tuur Rommens, Tochi Chukwuani and Andreas Skov Olsen have all come through the Ibrox door, and there is every chance that others will follow suit to join the Scottish Premiership title hopefuls in the coming days.
However, there appears to be a race against time to get Naderi’s move over the line with Rostock playing hardball over his future.
Sky Sports: Hansa Rostock ‘Continue’ to Reject Rangers Bids for Ryan Naderi
The report by Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg states that Rostock are continuing to reject Rangers’ offers for Naderi, with little over three days left in the transfer market.
The Gers have revised their initial bid, and are now offering €3.6million (£3.1million) guaranteed for the young German star, which includes realistic bonuses, plus a sell-on clause for his signature.
Naderi would even consider signing a deal with Rangers but remaining at Hansa Rostock until the end of the season to help them with their promotion bid – and the 22-year-old would like clarity over his future with just days left in the transfer window.
If that deal collapses, then Rangers are prepared to switch their focus to Dutch striker Joel Piroe of Leeds United, if the Naderi deal cannot get over the line in time.
Naderi only joined Hansa Rostock at the start of last season, but he’s had an incredible campaign so far. Starting his first game of the season at the end of September, following a muscle injury, the young German starlet has since notched eight goals in just 13 starts in the third tier of German football – and it’s clear to see why Rangers want him through the door.
Rangers Need Firepower to Win Scottish Premiership Title
Rangers’ strike force haven’t quite been at the races this season. In fact, defender James Tavernier is their top goalscorer in the Scottish Premiership, whilst three players are stuck on four goals each in centre-back Emmanuel Fernandez, midfielder Thelo Aasgaard and forward Youssef Chermiti.
Forward trio Mikey Moore, Danilo and Bojan Miovski are all on three goals each in the league, but that may not be enough to drag them to the title.
The Gers are only four points adrift of leaders Hearts with 15 games to go, including five in the Scottish Premiership split, and having lost just twice all season, there is ample reason to back them in the title race.
