NafisaEdu “looking forward” to seeing Lucca’s “impact”
Starring down the barrel of relegation, Nottingham Forest have been busy in the January transfer window. The Tricky Trees have welcomed Lorenzo Lucca on loan from Napoli in the hope of boosting their attacking options and handing Sean Dyche the perfect, towering striker for his robust system.
Heaping praise on the forward, sporting director Edu Gaspar told the club website: “Lorenzo is a player who adds specific qualities to our team, and we are really pleased he has joined us.
“Having played at the top level in different countries, he arrives with a good blend of experience and scope to continue developing as a player. Everyone at the Club welcomes Lorenzo, and we are all looking forward to seeing the impact he can have for the rest of the season.”

Even after Lucca, Forest may not be done there in the January transfer window. The Midlands club have until Monday to get any further deals over the line and have been linked with the likes Yasin Ayari and Lewis Dunk in a Brighton & Hove Albion shopping spree.
At this stage, it seems unlikely that either of those targets arrive, but the same can’t be said for a Serie A midfielder.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Nottingham Forest are now finalising a deal to sign Davide Frattesi from Inter Milan. The Italian is represented by the same agent as Lucca and could now be on his way to the same club.
The deal, which would be a loan move with an option to buy, now relies on Frattesi’s decision. The Inter midfielder is yet to make his mind up about his future, but Forest will be hoping that he comes to a decision before Monday.
The 26-year-old would add plenty of experience to Dyche’s squad. He’s featured on Europe’s top stage and is even a Serie A winner. It’s arguably exactly what Nottingham Forest need at the heart of their midfield.
Dubbed a “great coup” by Italian legend Roberto Baggio, Frattesi now has a big decision to make in the coming days. For Forest, he would also be a direct replacement for Douglas Luiz, who returned to Juventus before sealing a loan move to Aston Villa.
Having failed to sign the likes of Ayari, a move to sign the Serie A star makes perfect sense at the City Ground.
