They just couldn’t get a foothold in the game. They lacked the spark, the creativity, the cutting edge you need against a top-half Premier League side.”​The 3-0 scoreline, according to Carragher, was a fair reflection of the dominance.

“Brighton were clinical, they were sharp, and they deserved every bit of that win,” he concluded. “For Leeds, this is a wake-up call. They’ve been on a good run, but this performance today will raise some serious questions. They need to bounce back immediately, otherwise, those old anxieties, that ‘fragility,’ as I call it, will start to creep back in.”​
