Brighton Land Nigerian Goalkeeping Star Chiamaka Nnadozie in Major Transfer Coup
Brighton & Hove Albion have officially secured the services of Nigerian international goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, who will join the Women’s Super League side on a free transfer once her contract with Paris FC ends on July 1.
The 23-year-old began her professional career with Rivers Angels in 2016 before making the move to Europe in 2020, where she went on to become a key figure for Paris FC. Over five seasons in France, Nnadozie racked up 118 appearances, including 16 outings in the UEFA Women’s Champions League between 2022 and 2025. Her performances peaked in the 2023/24 season when she was crowned UNFP Division 1 Féminine Goalkeeper of the Year — making history as the first African player to claim the accolade.
Internationally, Nnadozie has represented Nigeria across all age levels, earning her senior debut in 2018 in a match against France. She has since become a mainstay for the Super Falcons, amassing 55 caps and playing a crucial role in multiple major tournaments.
Brighton head coach Dario Vidosic expressed his excitement over the signing, praising Nnadozie’s commanding presence and elite-level experience. He highlighted her proven track record in top-tier competitions as a vital asset, saying she would bolster the team’s defensive strength and contribute significantly to their ambitions for the upcoming season.
