Celtic have opened up a 13-point lead over Rangers after the latest weekend of Premiership action.
On Thursday, those from Ibrox were on cloud nine after Celtic were beaten 3-0 by Rangers as Brendan Rodgers suffered only his second loss in this fixture from 21 matches.
But, in next to no time, normal service has resumed in Glasgow and the champions are winning again, whilst Rangers continue to embarrass themselves.
Hours before Celtic cruised to a 3-0 win over St Mirren on Sunday, Rangers let a 2-0 lead slip at Hibernian to draw 3-3 at Easter Road and further fall behind to the soon-to-be 2024/25 champions of Scotland.
Ally McCoist watched the drama unfold after the New Year and he went through all the emotions.

Jeff Stelling works alongside McCoist for talkSPORT Breakfast and the duo were on together for the first time in 2025.
The former Soccer Saturday presenter stated that Rangers have ‘blown all their work’ by those dropped points at Easter Road, as he told talkSPORT (06/01/25 at 6:10 am).
And McCoist agreed with his co-presenter after witnessing first-hand the highs of Thursday’s game.
“I was going to say, you must have been great,” said Stelling. “You must have been buzzing after New Year and then what happens? Easter or Easter Road comes along too early and Rangers blow all their good work.”
McCoist responded: “100%, mate. I was at the game with the boys, the New Year game. Honestly, Rangers were tremendous and then even the first 20 minutes yesterday two nothing up. Cruising. To be fair to Hibs, they come back into it. Listen, if you are such a thing as a neutral, then it would have been a good game to watch.
Celtic and Rangers mentality amid Manchester United draw at Liverpool
One of the big games of the weekend across European football was Liverpool’s home clash against Manchester United.
Just like in Scotland, those on Merseyside are miles ahead of their old rivals, but Liverpool and Manchester United recorded an entertaining 2-2 draw at Anfield on Sunday.
McCoist was discussing the ‘mentality’ of playing for these types of clubs and how you need to have the ‘mindset’ to win every week.
“It’s the same thing, you and I spoke about when we first come on the show,” added McCoist.
“You look at Rangers’ performance against Celtic. Absolutely out of this world. Everybody is raving about it. That’s the standard you have to maintain. At clubs like, Rangers, Celtic, Liverpool and Manchester United. Where there is an emphasis to effectively win every game, not just a game or a couple of games.
“Every game, then you have to have that mentality to perform. You clearly aren’t going to win every week. But you have to have the mentality in your own mindset to realise that you are playing at a club where it’s imperative you win games of football.
