Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim apparently wants to bring one West Ham United player to Old Trafford in the summer.

West Ham head coach Graham Potter faces a vitally important summer transfer window in a few month’s time, and the same can be said for Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim.

It seems like the two clubs could become entangled in a deal for one player in particular.

Potter is said to be planning a huge squad overhaul at the London Stadium in the summer.

The 49-year-old needs to bring in numerous new signings when the summer transfer window opens.

However, he may well be forced to move one or two big players on as well, in order to help fund his spending spree.

And one Hammer in particular is reportedly attracting real attention from one of the world’s biggest clubs.

Manchester United eye move for West Ham star Jean-Clair Todibo
French defender Jean-Clair Todibo could well be Old Trafford bound in the summer it seems.

That’s because Give Me Sport are reporting that the 25-year-old is a key transfer target for Man United manager Ruben Amorim.

Todibo joined the Hammers on a loan deal from Nice in the summer, and we have an obligation to buy him for around €32 million (£26 million) in the summer, according to Sky Sports.

Football Espana once described the former Barcelona defender as an ‘incredible’ player.

However, whilst he has shown glimpses of his quality with West Ham, his debut campaign at the London Stadium has been extremely underwhelming.

He reportedly wanted to leave West Ham in January, with Juventus back in for him.

In my opinion, Todibo has never got over missing out on a move to Juve seven months ago, and this summer may well be the time to let him go.

However, Manchester is calling, rather than Turin it seems.

Why West Ham should sell Jean-Clair Todibo to Manchester United
I don’t care how good you are with the ball at your feet, if you’re not up for the challenge physically, you will never succeed as a centre-back in the Premier League.

Todibo’s lack of physicality has really concerned me this season, and he has often been bullied by opposing strikers.

A great example of this is when Chris Wood had his way with the centre-back during Nottingham Forest’s 3-0 win over us a few months ago.

Jean-Clair Todibo has actually really disappointed for West Ham since joining us last summer.

There is an argument that the former Nice man is more suited to Graham Potter’s system than he was Julen Lopetegui’s, and that’s a fair point.

However, I think he only ever wanted to use us as a stepping stone anyway.

So I would send him on his way in the summer, without a second thought.
