Celtic comprehensively beat St Mirren after a late flurry of goals in Paisley.
St Mirren put up a plucky fight in the SMISA Stadium, but Celtic’s power eventually saw the game out after Hyunjun Yang put in a sterling Hoops performance to ensure the Bhoys left Paisley with all three points.
Most of the headlines have been taken up by St Mirren being denied a penalty and on another day, it probably would and should have been awarded against Celtic.
But that isn’t what St Mirren’s Declan John is focusing on as the former Rangers man rues the number of chances he says his club spurned in the defeat to Brendan Rodgers’ side.

John got on the scoresheet as his stunning free kick levelled the scores at 1-1, but as Celtic looked to their bench to see the game out, the St Mirren midfielder was gutted that his own team lacked the cutting edge of the Glasgow giants.
John told the Paisley Daily Express [print edition page 20], “We knew it was going to be a tough game as they are a really good side with a really strong squad.
“We’ve played a lot worse and got results. We’ve played well in the last four games and it’s about getting some results now.
“I think we’ve performed really well. On Wednesday night, the result didn’t reflect the performance and it’s kind of the same here really.
I think we’ve had a few chances. It is about us taking those chances but also keeping the ball out the net.
“At 3-2, we have a couple of chances that could have flipped it on its head but we’re playing against a good side who brought on some good subs.”
When Celtic can officially wrap up the Scottish Premiership title
Celtic are now just three wins away from retaining their title, with Rangers up next as the Ibrox club come to visit Celtic Park.
If Brendan Rodgers can negotiate a win over Barry Ferguson’s side, Hearts await the Hoops just before Celtic travel to St Johnstone on the 6th of April.
If the Bhoys can win both those games, then Celtic will have officially won their fourth title in a row at McDairmid Park with another possible treble on the way too.
