Premier League Newcomers Plot Shock Move for £50m Bundesliga ‘Goal Machine’ After Guiu Deal – Sunderland’s Transfer Ambition Shows No Signs of Slowing Down!

Fresh from securing a loan deal for Chelsea forward Marc Guiu, Sunderland have now set their sights on another major attacking addition.RB Leipzig’s prolific striker Lois Openda, according to Sky Sports.

The ambitious Black Cats have been one of the busiest clubs in this summer’s window after earning promotion back to the Premier League via the playoffs in May. Head coach Régis Le Bris has wasted no time strengthening his squad, welcoming big-name signings such as Enzo Le Fée, Habib Diarra, Simon Adingra, Chemsdine Talbi, Noah Sadiki, Reinildo, Granit Xhaka, and Robin Roefs.

But the business isn’t done yet. Sunderland are now eyeing a sensational swoop for Belgium international Openda dubbed a ‘goal machine’ despite Leipzig reportedly demanding around £50 million for his services.

According to Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, the move could hinge on whether Leipzig are willing to part with Openda amid mounting uncertainty surrounding two of their other stars: Benjamin Šeško and Xavi Simons. Šeško has been linked with both Manchester United and Newcastle who’ve reportedly made a £70 million bid while Chelsea are in advanced negotiations for Simons.

Neither player featured in Leipzig’s most recent pre-season friendly, with Šeško believed to have already informed teammates of his imminent departure.

If Sunderland can pull this off, it would mark one of the most audacious signings in their recent history.
