Wolves Eye Premier League Stars as Summer Rebuild Gains Momentum Under Pereira
With a reshaped recruitment setup and funds at their disposal following the lucrative sales of Matheus Cunha and Rayan Ait Nouri, Wolverhampton Wanderers appear poised for a transformative summer. Optimism is growing among the Molineux faithful that owners Fosun are finally steering the club in a more ambitious direction.
The club’s first significant move under new manager Vitor Pereira is nearing completion, with Spanish attacking midfielder Fer Lopez on the verge of finalising his transfer from Celta Vigo after undergoing a medical on Wednesday. Lopez is expected to be the first of several arrivals, as Wolves look to bolster their squad ahead of the new season.
One name strongly linked is Evann Guessand of OGC Nice, a versatile forward who notched 13 goals last season. Valued at £34 million, the Frenchman is seen as a potential replacement for Cunha, given his similar skill set and attacking profile.
But Wolves’ ambitions don’t stop at the continent. The club is reportedly also monitoring Premier League talent, with Fulham’s Andreas Pereira catching their eye. According to John Percy of The Telegraph, Wolves’ recruitment team have shown strong interest in the Brazilian midfielder at the outset of the window.
Pereira, who remains under contract at Craven Cottage until June 2026, has established himself in the English top flight with 11 goals and 23 assists across 148 Premier League appearances. At 29, his tactical flexibility being comfortable as a deep-lying playmaker or an advanced number 10 makes him a compelling target for a Wolves side looking to revamp its midfield options.
