Aaron Ramsdale is poised to leave Southampton on loan this summer, with the club open to a temporary move following their relegation to the Championship. According to talkSPORT, both Rangers and Turkish giants Galatasaray have expressed interest in the England international, who remains one of the highest earners at St Mary’s, reportedly banking over £100,000 per week.
Ramsdale is eyeing a place in England’s squad for next year’s World Cup and believes regular top-flight football is essential to keep himself in contention. A switch to Rangers could reunite him with current boss Russell Martin, who previously worked with the goalkeeper at Southampton. Speaking on talkSPORT, pundit Troy Deeney backed a move to Ibrox, saying: “There’s a natural fit there with Russell Martin. It’s a massive club and he’d get the platform to show what he can do consistently.”
Deeney also touched on Ramsdale’s desire to prove critics wrong regarding his ability with the ball at his feet, a trait that came under scrutiny during his time at Arsenal.
