Brighton’s Igor Julio Nears Real Sociedad Move as Talks Progress
Real Sociedad are making significant strides in their pursuit of Brighton & Hove Albion’s centre-back Igor Julio, with negotiations advancing rapidly.
Spanish outlet AS reports that the La Liga club has prioritised the 27-year-old Brazilian defender as their top target this summer, following their inability to secure a permanent deal for West Ham United’s Nayef Aguerd, who was on loan last season.
AS highlights that Julio has given his full approval to the move, with an understanding already reached between the player and Real Sociedad.
Most terms are reportedly settled, leaving only minor details to be finalised.
Julio, whose playing time at Brighton was limited under manager Fabian Hürzeler due to injury and competition, sees a switch to the competitive La Liga side as an opportunity to revitalise his career.
While interest from other clubs has been noted, Real Sociedad remain in pole position.
The focus now shifts to the ongoing discussions between Brighton and La Real, as both clubs work to hammer out a transfer agreement for the defender.
