Crystal Palace Lead Race for ‘World-Class’ Douglas Luiz as Juventus Midfielder Eyes Exit Amid Selhurst Overhaul
Crystal Palace are emerging as the clear frontrunners in the race to sign Douglas Luiz, with the Juventus and Brazil midfielder open to a move after a difficult spell in Turin. Following a historic 2024/25 campaign that saw Palace lift their first-ever FA Cup and secure Europa League football, manager Oliver Glasner is eager to add proven quality to his squad — and Luiz, described as “world-class” by former teammate John McGinn, has become a prime target.
The 27-year-old joined Juventus just last year but has failed to cement a consistent starting role under Thiago Motta, and new manager Igor Tudor has not guaranteed him more game time. With the 2026 World Cup approaching, Luiz is keen to secure a regular starting berth elsewhere.
