Rangers Reject €7.5m Besiktas Bid for Star Midfielder Diomande as Transfer Talks Intensify


Rangers have declined a €7.5 million offer from Turkish giants Besiktas for dynamic midfielder Mohamed Diomande, with negotiations between the two clubs still ongoing.

The Scottish Premiership side, currently undergoing a major squad overhaul under Russell Martin, believe the fee is well below their valuation of the 23-year-old, who played a key role in their campaign last season.

Diomande made an impressive 54 appearances in all competitions, contributing 15 goals and assists combined, and notably shone in Europe by assisting in Rangers’ 3-1 away win over Fenerbahce a standout display that likely alerted Besiktas.

The Istanbul-based club, now managed by former Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, are keen to reinforce their squad and are expected to return swiftly with an improved offer as they target a title push in the Turkish Super Lig.

Rangers, meanwhile, have been busy in the market themselves, bringing in defenders Max Aarons, Nasser Djiga, and Emmanuel Fernandez, along with midfielders Joe Rothwell, Thelo Aasgaard, and Lyall Cameron.

Djeidi Gassama also joined from Sheffield Wednesday in a budget-friendly move amid the English club’s financial struggles.

While new signings continue to arrive, potential departures are also in motion. Alongside Diomande, striker Hamza Igamane is attracting interest from Lille, and Cyriel Dessers is being monitored by other clubs.

Diomande remains under contract at Ibrox for another three years, and should a sale materialize, Martin will likely seek a quick replacement to maintain balance in his squad.
