Sunderland Land International Midfield Talent in Free Transfer Coup – Injury Comeback Star Jamie Finn Joins the Ranks!
Sunderland have bolstered their midfield options with the signing of Republic of Ireland international Jamie Finn on a free transfer following her departure from Birmingham City earlier this summer.
The Lady Black Cats confirmed the acquisition of the 27-year-old on their official website, marking their fifth addition of the current transfer window.

Finn, who hails from Dublin, brings valuable experience and versatility to the squad. She spent four years with Birmingham City, where she featured in over 50 matches across all competitions. Her stint at the club was somewhat disrupted by a serious ACL injury, which limited her overall impact.
Before making her mark in the English game, Finn honed her skills in Ireland with Raheny United and Shelbourne. Her impressive performances at club level earned her 16 caps for the Republic of Ireland national team, and she’s determined to earn a recall now that she’s fit again.
Speaking about her move to Sunderland, Finn expressed enthusiasm about joining the club’s project. “I had great conversations with Mel \[Reay] and Steph \[Libbey] about the team’s ambitions. It’s such a historic club so I’m really happy to have signed and excited to get going,” she said.
Her arrival continues Sunderland’s active recruitment drive as they gear up for the new campaign.
