Wolves hijack Rangers agreement for pre-agreed January arrival

Wolves are set to keep hold of Jonathan Hunter-Barrett despite the academy manager being heavily linked to Rangers.

The Gers have not been afraid to make changes to their backroom staff in recent months.

Just last week, Kevin Thelwell was relieved of his duties at Ibrox, alongside Patrick Stewart, after an awful start to the season.

However, additions have also been common, with Thelwell previously facing heavy criticism for hiring his son at Rangers as head of recruitment.

Before his dismissal, it also looked like Thelwell would also appoint his former colleague, Hunter-Barrett, but now he appears set to stay at Molineux.

Yet, any prospect of him moving north of the border appears to have now vanished.

Andrew Cavenagh has not had a great time since his arrival at Ibrox in the summer.

Now, the snub of Hunter-Barrett sums up the current shambles that is ongoing at the Glaswegians.Wolves are in a mess in the Premier League, with the Black Country club without a win and almost certainly down.

Yet, the fact that Hunter-Barrett would rather stay at Molineux rather than move to Rangers is a slap in the face for Cavenagh.

Hopefully, this is the wakeup call needed, and the chairman will now look to make positive changes going forward to fix this mess.
