Wilfried Nancy admits he’s ‘never seen that in my life’ as Celtic beat Aberdeen

Celtic manager Wilfried Nancy must have thought he had the worst run of luck out of all the managers in the SPFL right now.

The Hoops boss watched his Celtic team batter Aberdeen and looked like they were cruising to a 1-0 win as the Bhoys dominated the game.

One goal up and with Aberdeen down to ten men, all Celtic had to do was to score that elusive second goal to put the game to bed and claim Nancy’s first win as Celtic manager.

However, Bilalović equalised on the 74th minute to leave Nancy gutted and a crowd inside Celtic Park wondering just how they watched their side drop another two points.

Kieran Tierney came to his manager’s rescue with the second in the 88th minute and the three points were wrapped up by James Forrest to deliver Nancy a perfect Christmas present.

Wilfried Nancy was also in disbelief as the Celtic manager reacted to his first win as the Frenchman delivered his honest verdict.

Wilfried Nancy blown away by Celtic’s win vs Aberdeen

Now that the Celtic manager has some breathing space, Nancy was delighted as he delivered his verdict on his team’s performance against Aberdeen.

Nancy told Celtic TV, “I am happy for the guys. I think we deserve more wins. But today was the day in terms of how we play.

“The product of the red card, this is what I like because we wanted to go forward so I think that defensively when we lost the ball we really saw the difference in transition.

“The way we scored the first goal, we lost the ball and after that we did a really good defensive transition, and then after that we did a really good attacking run.

“And then we scored more goals. I’ve never seen that in my life, hitting the post five times in one game but to be honest, this is our story.

But my team showed a lot of resilience, because we got caught on the equaliser and that was a difficult moment.

“They showed great resilience to attack again to score two more goals. So really, really happy for them.”
