As has seemingly been the case for years now, Guimaraes has been linked with a move away from Newcastle United.

According to The Chronicle, Guimaraes is not thinking about a move to City at this stage.

In fact, the midfielder is believed to desperately want to lift another Carabao Cup trophy with the club, with Howe’s side now into the semi-finals where they will play City.

Guimaraes wants to remain in the best place possible ahead of next summer’s World Cup and he believes that is Newcastle.

The report adds that no moves or discussions have taken place among Guimaraes and his representatives.

Bruno Guimaraes’s stance on Newcastle United isn’t surprising

Guimaraes loves playing for Newcastle and has embraced the city and its people since the moment he arrived.

A captain both on and off the field, he is far too settled on Tyneside to start thinking about upping sticks mid-season.

There will be a day when Guimaraes leaves the club but, hopefully, that’s not for another few years yet.

Geordie Boot Boys understands that Guimaraes is open to extending his contract at Newcastle. 

His current deal expires in the summer of 2028 but the club hope to extend that even further.

Guimaraes has been a remarkable signing at Newcastle and his love for the club is obvious.

So much so, in fact, that it would actually be a surprise if he did want to leave the club.
