Calvert-Lewin has now scored seven goals in six games, becoming the first-ever Leeds player to score in six consecutive Premier League matches. It comes after reports said Thomas Tuchel is keeping a close eye.
Regis Le Bris compliments Dominic Calvert-Lewin with praise
Calvert-Lewin is the kind of name that becomes a regular talking point, so much so that even opponents’ managers are asked about the England striker. Regis Le Bris was asked about the Leeds star’s run of goals.
Le Bris had praised Calvert-Lewin before the game, but having watched the former Everton man get the run on Sunderland defender Nordi Mukiele to score, Le Bris described Calvert-Lewin’s timing as “perfect”.
“He has the perfect timing. It was a high press, they escaped our pressure and he came off the back of Nordi. He’s smart and a really good striker and he found the timing to arrive just on time,” Le Bris said.

Le Bris was not the only manager on the touchline to be dishing out praise for Calvert-Lewin. Indeed, Farke – who has sung Calvert-Lewin’s praises in recent weeks – was also full of praise for Leeds’ no.9.
“His hard work and leadership in the dressing room, such a professional. I don’t want to put him in cotton wool. He invests a lot, you get that back. If you work for the team and not selfishly, the goals will come.”
Calvert-Lewin was withdrawn just after the 80-minute mark and it might have been to keep the striker injury-free as Leeds go into a busy week which sees the Whites face Liverpool and Man United in days.
