Brendan Rodgers has already told Rangers why they should sign Tawanda Maswanhise
Rangers have been linked with Motherwell star Tawanda Maswanhise this month.
Danny Rohl is keen on attacking reinforcements at Ibrox, and the Fir Park ace would be a big hit in Govan given his goalscoring record this season.
Maswanhise has scored 15 goals in 27 appearances so far this season, a huge breakout campaign for the forward.
Brendan Rodgers departed Celtic in disgrace earlier this season, but he had firsthand knowledge of the talent that the 23-year-old possesses from one of his other managerial roles.Tawanda Maswanhise’s 25-26 Premiership stats
What did Brendan Rodgers say about Tawanda Maswanhise?
Rodgers was the Leicester manager when Maswanhise was coming through the ranks at the King Power, and he knew all about the ability that he had.
Speaking in 2021, the former Hoops boss said: “He’s a young player I like.“I’ve seen him playing for the Under-18s, he’s quick, he’s direct.
“He’s got a lot of strengths and he’s got a lot of potential, but a lot of work to do.”
That pace and power has been on display recently, and shows that Rodgers was right with his prediction about the Zimbabwe ace’s potential.
Why Rangers would walk the league with Maswanhise signing
It remains to be seen whether the Well would be willing to sell Maswanhise, as they are said to be baffled by the links with the Light Blues and are keen to keep hold of their star man.
If Rohl’s side could strike a deal and bring the African attacker to G51 this month, it would surely put them in pole position for the Scottish Premiership.
The likes of Bojan Miovski, Youssef Chermiti and Danilo have struggled to score this season, with just nine league goals between them, and the Steelmen ace has not had that issue, with 10 goals to his name in the division.

Chermiti 4
Miovski 3
Danilo 2
Maswanhise 10

If he was leading the line for the Auchenhowie outfit, they would probably be in first place already, so bringing him in now would drastically increase their chances of overhauling Hearts.
Rodgers has already told the Bears why they should sign the up-and-coming star, they need to heed his words and snap up one of Scottish football’s hottest prospects.
That would likely put their hands on the trophy at the end of the campaign, so it would be worth every penny that it would take to get him out of North Lanarkshire, especially if they could manage to do it this month.
