Rabiu AminuBarry Ferguson predicts multiple Rangers exits after Kieran Dowell to Hull City transfer
Barry Ferguson believes more Rangers players will go out the door in the final weeks of the winter transfer window.
Kieran Dowell has completed his move to Hull City, with the Englishman signing for the EFL Championship outfit on a permanent deal.
Lyall Cameron has also moved to Aberdeen, with the Scottish midfielder certainly showing character by joining the Light Blues’ bitter rivals.
There are still players at the Glaswegian outfit who clearly aren’t part of Danny Rohl’s squad, and a mini squad exodus should be expected before the 2 February deadline.
Rangers send around four more players out on loan in January
Ferguson feels three to four more players could be on their way out of the Gers in the coming weeks.
Findlay Curtis could be on his way to Kilmarnock, having a chance to further his development under Neil McCann and Billy Dodds.
The likes of Rabbi Matondo and Clinton Nsiala have also struggled for game time at the Light Blues this season, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see them depart Ibrox soon.
Speaking on the Go Radio Football Show on 23 January, Ferguson said, “I think over the next week or so, you’ll see more going out the door. Dowell is away to Hull, Cameron’s at Aberdeen, and I do think you’ll see another three to four going out on loan.”
Tuur Rommens, Tochi Chukwuani and Andreas Skov Olsen have added much-needed depth to the Glaswegian outfit’s squad, but Rohl hasn’t ruled out further winter additions.
Zebedee Lawson made his debut for the Gers in the 5-0 win over Annan Athletic in the Scottish Gas Scottish Cup, and the 17-year-old forward will surely benefit from regular game time elsewhere.
Danny Rohl to block one Ibrox exit after what’s happened
Joe Rothwell has been linked with a move to Sheffield United, with a return to the EFL Championship on the cards after his struggles in Govan.
Rangers may not be able to afford losing the Englishman, though, as Rohl has to cope without Connor Barron for several weeks after the midfielder picked up an injury.

The German manager will hope to have several options at his disposal as he competes with Hearts for the William Hill Premiership title, and while certain players surely don’t have a future in G51, Rothwell’s continuity may be essential for now.
It will be interesting to see the incomings and outgoings at the Glaswegian outfit before Deadline Day, with fans anticipating a special end to the window.
