Keane Stunned by Okafor’s “Courage” in Chelsea Fightback

In a rare moment of admiration for a performance against a big-six side, Roy Keane has hailed Leeds United forward Noah Okafor for an “absolute masterclass” in the Whites’ 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge. After trailing 2-0 following goals from Joao Pedro and Cole Palmer, Leeds staged a defiant second-half comeback that Keane believes was spearheaded by Okafor’s relentless work rate.

​The Swiss international, who moved to Elland Road in the summer of 2024, proved to be the thorn in Chelsea’s side. He won the penalty that Lukas Nmecha converted before showing predatory instincts to pounce on a defensive mix-up and fire home the equalizer in the 72nd minute.

​Speaking on Sky Sports, Keane singled out Okafor as one of the standout players in the Premier League this season, praising his ability to lead the line under immense pressure.

​”I’ve been critical of Leeds in the past, but Okafor today was outstanding,” Keane admitted. “To be 2-0 down at a place like this and keep believing takes real courage. He was a nuisance all night—strong, direct, and clinical. He’s been their most consistent performer this season by a mile. He’s the reason they are moving away from that relegation zone.”
